Epicurlite: A Lifestyle and Travel Blog that Explores the Marvels this World has to Offer: Good Food, Travel, and Everything Else in Between.

Welcome to Epicurlite!

I’ve been intrigued by all things foreign from a very young age. I am constantly striving to expose myself to different foods, cultures, and languages first-hand. If you perused my Google search history, I'm sure you would find queries related to travel, recipes, or languages at least once per day on average.

While I am not sure exactly how this all started, it's certain that while growing up in Jamaica, my mother instilled in me that we always embrace others regardless of the color of their skin or any other differences they may have. This is why I've embraced this life of wanderlust whenever possible.

By the time I was ten, I had friends from Bosnia, Cambodia, India, Mexico, Vietnam, and the Philippines; I'm sure I missed a few. With each new connection and friendship, I attempted to learn more about that person's culture. Whatever I couldn't necessarily learn from them, books and the internet filled the gap.

Having lived in a couple of the most densely populated cities in America has exposed me to not only cold weather; (I don't think I can ever get used to the cold weather, TBH!) but also presented the opportunity to make friends and establish connections with people from all over the world frequently.

As I have gotten older, I travel whenever possible, I've learned a few languages along the way (Google Translate IS my friend too, don't get me wrong!), and dabbled in international cooking from time to time.

For me, researching destinations, and engaging with locals is my ultimate joy. This is why I created Epicurlite. I want to share my experience and recommendations for trekking in this world all from my point of view.

If you're an epicurean at heart and have interests in and out of your backyard, then Epiculite is for you. Epicurlite is also for you if you:

  1. are on the quest to travel as frequently as possible (with or without family). The more stamps in your passport the better!
  2. love to research travel destinations before and during your travels.
  3. don't mind splurging occasionally (or often, no judging here), but it also doesn't hurt to save a few bucks.

If any of the aforementioned fits your book, then stay tuned. My goal for this blog is for you to feel my genuine happiness in sharing a piece of my life with you. I hope this blog eventually becomes one of the first places you visit when you’re on the hunt for travel tips, restaurants, hotels, traveling solo AND with kids, and everything else in between.

Welcome aboard!
